DATELINE--July 5,2010

Water Temps are around 70 degrees and the fishing is real good. We fished yesterday and caught 10 walleyes and a small sauger, 5 bass and 4 northerns. The larger fish were 11.4 and 6.4 pound walleyes and a 5 and a 3 pound bass. The fish are shallow and most have been caught in 8-15 feet of water. Some people are getting walleyes in real shallow water at 2-5 feet by pitching jigs into shore. The weeds are attracting a lot of fish shallow. The northerns have also been in shallow and we are gettin them with crankbaits. Some people are casting spoons in shallow for northerns and are having real good luck also.

The fishing should remain hot for tne next month, but with the cooler water temps, it might be good into August as it was last year. Check out the pictures of the more notable fish in the photo section. We have taken 7 walleyes over 10 pounds so far this year. Most were released, but a few will be hung on the wall.

Book your trip now to get in on the hot action at Fort Peck.
